Karaoke Competition Rules
1. Eligibility
- Open to participants 21 and over only
- Contestants must sign up in advance at the venue or online.
- Professional singers are not eligible to compete.
2. Competition Structure
- Audition Rounds:
- The audition rounds will be held at The Fairview Tavern, Corvette Lounge, and The Blue Turtle Tavern. The number of weeks the audition rounds will run is subject to the number of participants registered.
- Preliminary Rounds:
- Held at The Fairview Tavern, Corvette Lounge, and The Blue Turtle Tavern.
- Contestants may participate in multiple preliminary rounds but can only qualify once for the finals, i.e. one 1st place winner per location
- Contestants will be selected from each venue to advance to the grand finale 1st place per venue will receive $250.
- Preliminary Semifinal Rounds:
- The preliminary semifinal rounds will take place at The Fairview Tavern, Corvette Lounge, and The Blue Turtle Tavern. One winner from each location will be selected to advance to the grand finale.
- Grand Finale:
- The final round will take place at The Fairview Tavern.
- Contestants from all three venues will compete for the grand prize of $1000 cash
3. Performance Guidelines
- Songs must be chosen from the venue's karaoke list, there will be certain “themed” nights i.e. 70’s Night, 80’s night, Tribute Night
- Each contestant is allowed to perform one song per round.
- Song selections must be appropriate for a family-friendly audience (no explicit content).
- Duets or group performances are allowed, but only the lead vocalist will be judged.
4. Judging Criteria
- Contestants will be judged on vocal ability, stage presence, audience engagement, and overall performance.
- Judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
- Audience applause may be factored into the judging at the discretion of the judges.
5. Prizes
- Preliminary Rounds:
- Winner at each venue will receive $250 and an invitation to the grand finale.
- Grand Finale at The Fairview Tavern:
- 1st Place: $1000 Cash prize
- 2nd Place: TBD
- 3rd Place: TBD
6. Registration and Participation
- Registration for each round closes 30 minutes before the competition starts.
- Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled performance time.
- No-shows may forfeit their chance to compete in the finals.
7. Code of Conduct
- All participants and audience members are expected to maintain a respectful and positive atmosphere.
- Any disruptive behavior may result in disqualification or removal from the venue.
- Contestants are encouraged to support fellow competitors and enjoy the spirit of the event.
8. Video Recording & Promotion
- By participating, contestants consent to video recording and the use of their performance for promotional purposes on social media and other platforms.
9. Miscellaneous
- The competition schedule and rules may be subject to change, with prior notice provided.
- In the event of a tie, contestants may be asked to perform an additional song as a tie-breaker.
- All decisions regarding rules and disputes are at the discretion of the event organizers.
- Contestants must not have any personal or professional relationship, affiliation, or connection with any of the participating venues or the judges involved in the competition
